I am sorry I forgot to post the finished turkeys!

Friendship Stew

The children really enjoyed the Friendship Stew.  Each child took a turn adding their “friendship” snack and stirred it.  It was the best stew ever!!!

Working with numbers

Sometimes we work with numbers on paper.  It is not only the matching of sets to numbers but it is also improving the fine motor skills with coloring and cutting.

Other times we enjoy practicing in centers.

The children had to match the cups with dots to the card they chose.

Busy Day

We had a busy day today.  We started out talking about Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for this year.  Then the children worked on cutting out the turkey feather and gluing them to the turkey.

Later we reviewed all the letters and sounds that we have been learning about this year.

We also reviewed numbers and practiced writing the number 8.  It can be tricky!  I did not take pictures because I was doing a lot of hand holding while they practiced on the dry erase boards.

Also, at times throughout the day they were playing/learning in centers.

Coffee Filter Turkeys

On Thursday, we started making the turkeys by making brown footprints. Most of the children are ticklish and did a lot of laughing when I painted their feet.

On Friday, the children colored a coffee filter with markers.  

When they finished, they sprayed it with water.  

We had to let them dry before we could put them together. 

 I will post pictures of the finished product next week.

Learning and Fun

The children have been learning about the letter Dd this week.  They are learning to recognize it, its sound, and how to write it.

The children are continuing to work on their fine motor skills while having fun during center time.

They are working with play dough, giving the turkey feathers, magnets, and the sensory bin.
