 Today we practice sounding out words.  The children use a dot marker to fill in a dot for each sound.  Then they had to try to spell the words.

Grammar - Verbs

  Today we reviewed that nouns are people, places, animals, or things.  Then we started talking about verbs.  I told them that verbs are the things that nouns can do.  We played along with the Dr. Jean song Verbs.

If the word she said was a verb, they acted it out.  She said words such as hop, tree, jog, fly, etc.

Math - Count On

The children are practicing counting on with a number line.  The first addend is one big jump to that number.  The second addend tells you how many little jumps to take.  Where you land or stop is the sum.
