More Sight Word Practice

 The children are continuing to work on reading sight words.  They worked with a partner.  They roll the die and choose a word from the corresponding column to read.  If they can read the word, then they got to dab it with a paint marker.  

Science - Thermometers

 This week in science class we are talking about a few of the weather tools such as rain gauges, wind vanes, and thermometers.  I wanted the children to see up close how the thermometer changes with different temperatures.  The children took turns with a cup of cold water, warm water, and a thermometer.  I asked them watch closely how the temperature on the thermometer changes when they move it from one cup to another. 

Fall Leaf Fun

 The children decide today was a good day to play in the leaves.  Do you think they had fun?

Math - Chapter 6 - Tens and Ones

 We have started a new chapter in math.

  In this chapter, the children will be working with ten rods and ones blocks.  

Today was the first day they used the ten rods.

 The challenge spelling words are shell and graph.

Thanksgiving Friendship Stew

 

The children celebrated Thanksgiving today with Friendship Stew!

I sent home snack sized bags for the children to fill with a favorite snack.

Here are our stew ingredients:

The children took turns adding their “friendship” (snack).

Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures of the kids eating.
