Bunny Trails

I ran across this Bunny Trails game at Ollie’s and I couldn’t pass it up.  I took each child one on one to help them explain the game.  I started them out very basic.  The game also has leveled cards that will put obstacles in their way.  It is not the best quality but the kids really liked it.

Happy Trails!!!

Hibernation Projects

The children have been learning about hibernation.  We started with the My Big World Magazine.  Besides reading the magazine and completing the activity, we also watched the videos and played the games.  The children heard several other books about hibernation.  Then the child choose an animal that they would like to use for the project.  Then we went outside and collected possible items to use.

The next day, the children began creating their animals.  They used play dough, rocks, pipe cleaners, egg crates, baking cups, paper, and paint.

Finally, they created the place for the animal to hibernate.  The children made logs, caves, rocks, and holes in the ground.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the finally projects.  I hope you were able to see them at Open House.  They really did a great job!!!

P.E.Class

The children have been playing a bowling game in P.E. Class. The children stand on the blue line and try to knock down the one pin in the hula hoop.  If they knock it down, they flip the hula hoop closer to the mid court line and reset the pin.  They are trying to see how far they can go.

Before the School Day Begins

In the mornings between 7:30 and 8:00, I put out items for the children to use to explore and create.  Usually 1 day each week I put out pattern blocks.  They can copy a picture or create something on their own.  They can be very creative!!

Snowball Fight

Today I read the book Snowball Fight! By Jimmy Fallon. Since we don’t have snow here, we had a paper snowball fight in the classroom.

After a few minutes of throw paper snowballs, the children would open their snowballs to see what letter was written inside.  The first time they told their classmates the letter.  After the second snowball fight they named the letter and its sound.

Do you want to have a snowball fight?

Sorting

The last few weeks we have been working on sorting objects and pictures.
Today the children were given a cup full of plastic colored shapes.  First they were asked to sort them by color.

Then they mixed them up and sorted them by shape.

During center time, these two worked on sorting puzzles.  The center piece gave a category such as “animals that are pets” or “animals that live in the ocean”.  They had to pick the 4 pictures that fit that category.  They finished them all!
