Apples
Our story this past week was called a Tree is a Plant. The story talked about the life cycle of the apple tree. It also talked about cutting open and apple to see the seeds. I cut an apple in half horizontally to show them the star inside. Then they each ate a piece of the apple.
Religion Test Review Game Style
The day before the religion test the children reviewed the chapter. I called 3 students to try to answer each question. If they knew the answer, they had to push the button. The color would light up for the first person to push it. That person would get to try to answer the question. They said they love this game!! I am sorry I did not get pictures of everyone.

Madeline’s Guest
Madeline was the Hero of the Week. For her show-n-tell on Thursday, she brought her Grandmother Rosie Phillips to read a story. We were so excited when we found out that Ms. Rosie is actually the author of the book she brought. She also told us that the character in the book is based on Madeline. The children really enjoyed her book I Almost Sat on a Frog! Thank you for sharing Ms. Rosie!

Science - Test Prep
The day before the test on states of matter we reviewed with the Kahoot! app.
I created a Kahoot! game that covered the material we studied.
After each question, we discuss it if anyone gets it wrong.
Science - Experimenting with Sink or Float
The children did some experimenting with sink or float.
First, they had to guess whether several items such as a pencil, glue stick, rubber band, quarter would sink or float.
Then, they checked in a container of water.
Science - Will it dissolve?
One of the lesson in our science book was about that solids will mix with liquids and that some will dissolve. We did some experimenting with water and some solids. I have some small plastic test tubes filled with water. I showed the children some solids and they had to guess if the solid would dissolve. Then I add each solid one by one to see if they guessed correctly.
