Rhyme Time
On Friday we reviewed rhyming words. We talked about what makes words rhyme, watched a rhyming video, and used a rhyme puzzle before we completed a worksheet.
I gave each child a puzzle piece and they had to walk around and find the person that had the piece that rhymed with his/her piece.
Snack Time
If weather permits, we eat snack outside by the playground and then have a few minutes to play. Since we could not get on the playground due to the tree being taken down, we ate outside under the tents and then played a little on the field.

Math Count the Room Game
Today the children tried a write the room game for math. I hung cards around the room that had pictures of art supplies on them. They had to take their clip board with the worksheet and go around the room counting how many objects were on each card and write it on the correct line.
The cards were something like this one.
I explained to them that the number in the box was the number on which line they had to write the amount. They were to count how many school supplies were on the card and write that number on the line. They said they really enjoyed it!
Book Boxes
Today I introduced book boxes to the children. On Mondays, they will pick books for the week. I will take them up on Friday so they can pick new ones on the next Monday. They keep these books beside there desk so they can read when they have finished their work or we a few minutes to fill.
They will pick 2 factual science type books such as these:
