The children worked together as a class to solve each problem in order to keep from being locked in the school all summer. The children used tools such a a Super Secret Summer Code and a pigpen cypher to solve the puzzles and earn the keys needed to get out. (I had to research the pigpen cipher. I had never heard of it!). They worked very hard and completed the activity but unfortunately not within our 60 minute suggested time frame. We would have been locked in the school. In each envelope, they earned awards. After we escaped school, the children voted on which award to give each classmate. Each child was given one award. It was interesting to see what they see in each other.
