Pumpkins

This week during science, the children will be learning about pumpkins.

Monday

On Monday, we started by listing what we know.

Here is a picture of our board.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, the children investigated a pumpkin.  I bought 4 different pumpkins for them to see a few different colors, sizes, and textures.  Then the children were divided up into groups.
They completed this worksheet.  (Sorry it is crooked!)

After everyone was finished, I put each pumpkin in water to see if it would float.  I had to take pictures with out the children after school because I did not want to take pictures with my iPad with wet hands.

Wednesday

On Wednesday,  the children voted on shapes for the jack-o’-lantern’s face.  Then they helped me clean it out.  Some children did not want to help.  They did not like the way it felt.  I did not supply gloves. :0

Here is the finished jack-o’-lantern!
