In writing class the children were learning about the sequence words first, next, then, and last. They worked in groups to write directions for how to do something. I let them walk around and discuss their ideas and they choose their groups. They wrote about how to build a sandcastle, carve a jack-o’ lantern, make a paper bird, and build a house.
