Force - Speed

As we continue to talk about force this week, we discussed how the amount of force used can affect speed.  Speed is defined as how fast or slow something moves.  So, I thought we would experiment with toy cars.  We discussed that the more force we use the faster something will go.  What a better way to practice than with racing cars!

They each had a turn so we had three races.

Then the winners of those three races had a race off.

And the winner was Ava!!!!

Next, we experimented with using less force.  The children tried to get their car into the box by pushing gently.

Nice tries but no luck.
