The spelling test will be on Friday, April 22nd.
The challenge words are shout and power.
This week in science we have been learning about the 3 states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Today we were talking about how matter can change. One of the ways we discussed, was that solids can dissolve into liquids. So, we experimented by putting sprinkles, flour, pepper, noodles, and sugar into water to see if they would dissolve.
On their paper was a chart. First, they had to guess what they thought would happen. Then, I added the solids to the water and shook them. Last, we discussed what happened and marked the test column. There was a lot of oohing and aahing.
Except for a couple of makeup tests our ITBS Testing is over!! They finished testing this morning and they were really excited for me to put the room back to normal. I have to cover up or take down anything that is a resource that could help them on the test.
I decided to buy them ice cream sandwiches as a celebratory treat.
We took a break from testing and decorated some paper eggs. I read the child a story about the Easter Bunny’s helpers having an egg decorating contest. Then the children used their water color sets to decorate a paper egg. They are so bright and beautiful!!
The children practiced telling time to the hour and half hour today. I placed clocks around the room and they had to write the time for each clock. They like being able to move around the room and use a clipboard.
