Using a 100 Chart

On Friday, we were talking about 10 more/less and 1 more/ones less.  We were using a 100 chart to discuss how to locate the number.  I would call out a number.  The children would place a see through stone on that number.  Then I would ask them to move it to the number that is 1 more/less or 10 more/less.  We would take about how they moved the stone.  1 more moves the stone to the right.  1 less moves the stone to the left.  10 more moves the stone down.  10 less moves the stone up.
